Fancy a refreshing scoop of sweetness? Try out this 5-minute, 2 ingredient grape sorbet! This is the easiest dessert to make, and chances are that you already have both ingredients in your home. The trickiest part of this recipe is deciding what to use for toppings!! I opted for some kiwi, pineapple, strawberries and chia seeds. I added a mint leaf for garnish and a little extra freshness. I love this recipe so much, and it is so easy to make in bulk so you can enjoy it with your friends and family!
This dessert is super delicious, balanced and you can completely customise the toppings. The texture is so smooth, especially for a home-made sorbet, which can be prone to having quite an icy texture with inconsistencies. I have also tried doing this recipe with frozen grapes instead of fresh grapes. Whilst this works too, it puts a lot of stress on your blender, and it is also harder to ensure there are no unblended chunks. I highly recommend this recipe to anyone who wants a quick and healthy dessert, with an abundance of opportunities for flavour combinations.
So in this recipe, I used sugar rather than maple syrup. You are more than welcome to use maple syrup, sugar or even honey (if this doesn’t upset your IBS symptoms). If you really don’t want to add any more sweetness, this recipe also works completely fine without any sugar or maple syrup. It is also possible to substitute the green grapes for red grapes, or even a mix of both. However, I would recommend staying away from any seeded grapes because they can alter the texture of the sorbet and disrupt the smooth texture. I prefer to have control of my crunch by adding toppings!
My family really love this recipe, and it’s a great healthy substitution for store-bought sorbets with their extensive ingredients lists. They are full of sugar and unhealthy preservatives. This sorbet has only 2 ingredients, no preservatives and is so unbelievably cheap! I also recommend making this for your children as an alternative to those sugar-packed shop ice-creams. It is so naturally sweetened and delicious, I’m sure they would love it too!
Ingredients: (single serving)
- 225g grapes
- 2 tbsp sugar or maple syrup
Method:
Step 1: wash your grapes and dry them.
Step 2: blend your grapes until completely smooth (I used a hand blender but you could also use a regular blender or nutri-bullet).
Step 3: add in your sugar or maple syrup. Briefly blend again.
Step 4: pour into a baking tray or takeaway box and put into the freezer for at least 4 hours before consumption.
This sorbet is so yummy and you can go absolutely crazy with the toppings-like I did 🙂 Also, feel free to add in more fruits, I chose to keep it quick and simple.
The sorbet will keep in the freezer for about 1 month.
