Detox Papaya Smoothie to Aid Digestion

Feeling a little bloated, congested or just feeling like you want to get the digestion going, this detox papaya smoothie is the perfect recipe for that! This smoothie is great to have before or after a meal, to help support your digestive system. Alternatively, you could have this smoothie when you are feeling bloated, have an IBS flare up or just need something to boost your gut health. I try to have one of these smoothies every other day to take my daily Fermented Green Papaya Enzyme (find out more about this miracle enzyme below!!).

Fermented Green Papaya Enzyme is a fantastic way to boost your immune system, help your gut microbiome and just support general gut and bodily health. Fermented foods are fantastic at helping to diversify the gut microbiome- something us with IBS are always striving for! I take one of these Fermented Green Papaya Enzyme sachets everyday to help balance my gut, and to decrease bloating and pain in my stomach. The ingredients are incredible clean and only use papaya and papaya skin in the fermentation process. I cannot recommend this product enough. I can get you a discount if you are interested in trying it out for yourself- code thelazylowfodmap10 will get you 10% off your purchases on the Bio Normalizer website!

I choose not to strain my smoothie after I blend it because I want to keep as much fibre as I can. The pulp of the blended fruit will help to boost my digestion, as well as the fantastic qualities of the Fermented Green Papaya Enzyme and the turmeric. With a smoothie that looks and tastes this good, you wouldn’t think it could be so beneficial for your body! The fermented product I use in this recipe has drastically improved my bloating- something that I’ve been suffering with for years! I hope you can get as much relief from this as I have!

Ingredients: (1 serving)

  • 1 x sachet Fermented Green Papaya Enzyme
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple (can be frozen or fresh)
  • 1 cup chopped papaya
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup water

Method:

Step 1: chop up your papaya and pineapple into medium size chunks.

Step 2: add all ingredients to a blender (or jug for hand blending).

Step 3: blend until smooth in consistency and there are no chunks of fruit. I blend for around 1 minute.

Step 4: serve! I love pouring my detox papaya smoothie into a mason jar.

This smoothie is best consumed immediately, but will keep in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
