Flavourful, Quick Chocolate Orange Protein Yoghurt

Fancy something healthy to hit that chocolate craving? Try out this delicious dark chocolate orange yoghurt bowl! With just 3 ingredients for the base, it allows you to go all-out on the toppings and fully customise it to your desires. This is definitely a staple in my diet, with such high protein content and healthy ingredients, I simply can’t get enough.

Although I use chocolate protein powder, you are more than welcome to use cocoa or cacao powder here instead. This would lower the protein amount in the meal, but it definitely still works fine and tastes amazing. I would recommend still adding the maple syrup to give the yoghurt bowl some sweetness (if your coconut yoghurt is unsweetened). You can also use sugar to sweeten, but I lean more towards maple syrup since it is less likely to upset my IBS.

If your coconut yoghurt is sweetened already (check that the sweetener is low FODMAP), reduce the maple syrup to 1/2 a tbsp. Alternatively, you could also use a low FODMAP soy yoghurt here, it would work with the ingredient measurements below. The chocolate I use to top this yoghurt bowl is ginger and orange flavoured. It pairs amazingly well with this chocolate orange bowl and adds in a different texture. If you enjoy this recipe, consider trying out my vanilla high protein yoghurt bowl. It’s just as delicious!

Topping suggestions for your chocolate orange yoghurt bowl:

  • Chocolate shavings and chocolate drizzle
  • Orange slices
  • Kiwi slices
  • Chopped strawberries
  • Granola (check out my delicious sugar and oil-free maple pecan granola)
  • Chia or flax seeds
  • Peanut butter drizzle
  • Maple syrup

Ingredients:

  • 250g low FODMAP coconut yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp That Protein chocolate cacao protein powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Toppings

Method:

Step 1: in a bowl, mix together your coconut yoghurt, protein powder and maple syrup

Step 2: transfer your yoghurt to your serving bowl.

Step 3: add your toppings! It’s seriously that easy! I used sliced oranges, granola, orange and ginger dark chocolate shavings and that same chocolate to drizzle over the top!

As you can see, this is such an easy recipe, and a great breakfast or snack option. Let me know what you think! Send me photos over to my Instagram TheLazyLowFODMAP and tag me in your recreations!
